The Pelican

The Pelican houseboat consists of three comfortable
wood frame buildings constructed on stable barges
and moored alongside one another. The bunkhouse
in the center is 48' long and the two outboard barges
are 42' long, making the overall dimensions of The
Pelican approximately 48' x 62'.
The left barge contains a large galley with plenty
of room at two tables. There's also a shower
room, the generator room, and a fish frying area on
the stern.
The center barge is the bunkhouse. There's a
small screen porch with a freezer and room to hang
your waders and wet clothes. A second fresh water
shower and a toilet are just inside the door. At
the stern there's a stainless steel fish cleaning table.
The right-hand barge consists of the crew quarters
and a large screen porch that's the perfect place for
after dinner fish stories and a cold one.
There
are porches on the bows of each barge with chairs and
a porch for shade and rain shelter on the stern of
each barge. The deck offers the best view in
the Chandeleur Islands. It's a good vantage point
for sunset watching and for watching birds, dolphins,
and the stars.
Without a doubt, The Pelican is the most comfortable
way to experience the Chandeleur Islands.
